  • They Just want to do oil changes and nothing more!

Made an appointment online and went there for a new muffler and any other parts needed with that service. The manager used a sthethascope to find the problem (what a joke) after explaining to him exactly what the problem was and sitting there for an hour and a half he said he could not fix it today because he did not have it in stock and the place where they get them was closed on the labor day holiday.(then why are you open) I wasn't born yesterday they DO NOT want to do ANY real service that they advertise because it will tie up there mechanics. I will never take my 3 vehicles again... More...

  • Exhaust system repair

Monro Muffler in Catonsville, Maryland is a total unprofessional rip-off business. I was charged $395.99 for cat. converter plus 120.00 labor. The same cat. converter retails for $142.99 at Advance Auto, that is over 176% mark up over retail. DO NOT GO TO MONRO MUFFLER for any service, the staff was ruin and unprofessional. They refuse to give any information about the repair after getting my payment. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON MONRO MUFFLER. More...

  • Liars and Cheats

I took my truck to Monro on Park Ave. and all that was supposed to be dome was I bring the shocks and they would install them. Sounded simple enough. NOT! They call back with a $2000.00 estimate to repair the entire front end suspension. Then said they had already put the shocks on???? I asked Why? You said you would call with an estimate before the work was done. He replied I only did the back shocks. 2nd lie. I said isn't that like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound? He said he had done them all at first. That was not possible if he said everything in the front end had to be... More...

  • Monro muffler sabotage my car

I replaced the alternator on my car I noticed the next day some squeaking under the hood, I took a look pulled on the belt and everything seemed fined the belt was tight and it didn't squeak when it was idle, worst case belt could have been going bad. I decide to take the car right around the corner to the Monro to get a second look about a 30 sec drive, mind you I've been driving the car all day. The guy takes a look and quotes me $340 for a new tensioner and serpentine belt. I begin to tell him I can't afford that right now so just put it back together and I will have to... More...

  • Monro Muffler - Repairs not correct

I have brought my Chevy Malibu to Monro Muffler for two separate issues. The first time was for loud sound in the wheels. It turned out to be bad struts. When I picked my vehicle up, the noise was even louder. The service manager told me they had received bad parts and needed to do the repair again. My question was: did they test drive the car before telling me it was fixed? My most recent issue is with my taillight assembly. Apparently there was a short in the wiring that was causing my bulbs to blow. When I drove away, the lights were working. The problem has reappeared. I... More...

  • oil change

I just visited monro muffler at 1268 front street Binghamton New York shop number 4040511 I was overdue for an oil change so I decided to try monro because of the sign hanging on the store advertising oil changes for $21.99 so I went in and requested the service asking the length of wait to be expected the man who I assume is manager Richard Lorenz quickly skipped my question and began taking my information then quoted me 36.99 because my vehicle has over 100,000 miles I told him that I wanted the cheapest price as advertised but he gave me no other option except the 36.99 feeling pressured... • Water pump

Its happen at 5641 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD 21228 ( Monro) There is no sign of professionalism in there job, in communication and no walking with customer to see the car problem. The way they start is, tell me the problem. i have no knowledge of car and its parts, so its easy to ripe me off. I told the receptive to come with me to show you the problem. he straightly said no, he don't need to see. we can fix it you can tell the problem verbally. I know the coolent pipe was broke and he gave me the estimate of 385 dollars and stating that the water pump is bad. No the... More...

  • Muffler bracket

I recently noticed that the bracket holding my muffle (2005 cavilar) had rusted through and needed to be replaced, my father suggested Monroe muffler (greorge urban location in cheekyowaga) thinking it couldn't be more than a $50 fix. I went in and they quoted me $103 for labor and parts. I was very upset and was wondering where I was going to come up with the money. I took the car home and did some reasearch online - turns out the beaker was only $16.99 at advance auto parts and my father and I were able to put the new bracket on in under 10 mins!!!!!!! I will never return to... More...

  • SO FRUSTRATED!!!!!!!

July 2011, I took my car to Monro for muffler clamps. They said my exhaust was rusting and needed to be replaced. $950+ and my car was making this noise when I accelerated. Called, complained, took car back. They "welded" a small leak (come to find out they never did weld anything!). Several other trips back and several months later, they have special order parts for my car (come to find out it was for someone else's car) and the work that was supposed to take 1 hour took over 5 hours. $500+ more dollars wasted on another job botched! My car was worse then before when they... More...

  • MISREPRESENTATION - Summer tires for winter???

In September of 2011, I brought my 2007 Subaru Legacy 2.5 to Monro Muffler on William Penn Highway in Monroeville, PA 15146 for replacement tires. James McCloskey is the representative that helped me and did the work on my vehicle. James suggested tires (Bridgestone Potenza RE050) and I asked if they were all season tires that will do well in winter weather because I travel year round. James said the tires he suggested will be fine in all weather. I trusted James and said it was ok to install the tires. Winter weather finally came to the Pittsburgh region for the first time of 2011/2012,... More...

  • Crooks

I just left monro recently and just wanted to let people know they are crooks now that I am not worried about losing my job. Most shops that I have seen or worked in dont really do flushes on your car seeing as in very few of their shops do they have a flush machine that works, therefore it is just a drain and fill not a flush and that means you should only be paying about half. Also I hated never being allowed to take lunches or breaks even though the computer docked you for them anyway, and how you would be forced to stay way past scehdule or asked to work astronomical hours. • Monro Stinks

I was charged way too much to have my brake, and fuel lines replaced because they were both leaking (I did call around after the fact, and was quoted about half the price I paid). Three months and thousands of miles later I took my car back because it smelled like gas, and I needed an inspection sticker. The mechanic had the nerves to tell me there was no leak, but found another $1200 of "suggested" repairs, $366 of which was required to get the sticker. I got a second opinion somewhere else. They said I only needed to replace a part for $150 (all the other items quoted in the... More...

I took my 2006 Cadillac CTS into the Monro Muffler Brake at 7888 Troy Pike, Huber Heights, OH 45424 two weeks ago because of the check engine light and a chugging and jerking everytime I got off of the highway and every time I stopped at a red light. The shop employee let me know they would inspect it and give me a call. They let me know it apparently needed an oil change and a new Camshaft Position Sensor and this would solve the chugging. So I decided to go ahead and spend the $450 they quoted me. When I picked up the car the gentleman let me know if we needed the chugging to... More...

  • Sloppy Workmanship

I recently took my Audi A3 to my local Monro service garage to have brake pads replaced. Upon inspection of my vehicle, the Monro manager indicated my CV boots were torn and needed to be replaced. This was confirmed earlier by my Audi service people. He also advised replacing front axles because they may have been compromised by the intrusion of dirt and pollutants. I confirmed this possibility while investigating on line. I paid to have all of this work performed in good faith. Now the bad stuff...First I was told the wrong axle had been delivered by the supplier...had to do without... More...

  • DO NOT TRUST MONRO! I wanted to alert you to problems I have recently had at your Newburgh, NY location. On 5/2/11, I went to this location for an oil change and tire rotation. I was told by Heath Rotchford that I needed rear brakes. I returned on 5/20/11 for the brake pad installation, paid $143.22 and thought everything was fine. I called Heath twice to tell him I was getting vibration when I braked. He told me first that the pads needed to wear in a bit and the vibration would stop. I called him again a week or so later and he told me to come in. I got back into... More...

  • Wheel fell off

I took my car to monro to get my brakes fixed. They gave me a price of 407. However they said i could do the rear wheel cylinder first sice that was making my brake light come on. They made me feel like they were doing me a favor y rotating my tires and filling my fluids. I gave they guy a tip, and when i drove out about a mile down from the shop my wheel fell off and i lost control of my car. The wheel passed me and bounced into oncoming traffic and landed in a ditch on the other side of the road. The underside of my car is dameaged and brake fluid is leaking everywhere. My neck and... • DO NOT go to Monro

I took my car to Monro Muffler in Olean, NY for inspection and I was quoted an outrageous price for parts that I discovered there was nothing wrong with in the first place (when I got it fixed somewhere else). I was very disappointed dealing with your business and I will NEVER be a customer of yours again. I felt very taken advantage of because I am a woman. I will be telling everyone I know what a poor business this truly is! More...
